Crest Futures respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information transparently, securely and only where it is necessary to operate our website and services.
This Privacy Notice explains what information may be collected when you visit Crest Futures, why it is processed, who may receive it, how long it may be retained, and the choices and rights available to you.
1. Who we are
This notice is provided by Crest Futures.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Crest Futures is the controller of personal information collected through the public Crest Futures website unless another notice expressly states otherwise.
The Crest Futures Trader Portal has a separate privacy notice covering profile registration, account services, purchases and other authenticated functionality.
2. Scope of this notice
This notice applies primarily to your use of the public Crest Futures website.
It covers information associated with:
- visiting and navigating the website;
- language and website preferences;
- account-size and product selections made on public pages;
- Help Center interactions;
- payout or account calculators;
- technical and security information generated when connecting to the website; and
- links from Crest Futures to external services.
Information processed after you create a Trader Portal profile or purchase an Evaluation or other Crest Futures product is governed by the applicable Trader Portal privacy notice in addition to any notices presented during the relevant process.
3. Information collected when you visit
Connection and technical information
When you access the website, our infrastructure and service providers may automatically process technical information required to deliver and protect the website.
This may include:
- IP address;
- date and time of requests;
- pages or resources requested;
- browser and device information;
- request headers;
- network and connection information;
- security-related signals; and
- server and access logs.
This information is primarily used for website delivery, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and maintaining the integrity of our systems.
4. Language preference
Crest Futures may use the preferred language communicated by your browser to determine an appropriate initial website language.
Where we do not offer that language, we may use the country associated with your IP address, as estimated by Cloudflare.
This automatic selection is intended only to improve the website experience. It is not used to determine your nationality or for advertising purposes.
You may change the website language at any time.
When you choose a language, we may store that preference in a first-party cookie for up to 12 months so that the website can remember your selection when you return.
The language preference cookie is not used for targeted advertising or cross-site tracking.
5. Your activity and selections on the public website
Certain website features allow you to make selections or enter information without creating a Crest Futures profile.
This may include:
- selecting an Evaluation or account size;
- using website calculators;
- searching the Help Center;
- selecting program options; and
- navigating between available products or trading programs.
This information is used to provide the functionality you request and improve navigation between the relevant pages of the website.
Selected account sizes or product options may, in some cases, appear as parameters within a page URL.
Crest Futures does not intentionally place your name, Trader Portal identity, payment card information or payment credentials within those public website URLs.
You should never manually enter passwords, payment credentials or other sensitive personal information into a website URL.
6. Trader Portal and account registration
Crest Futures provides free profile registration through the Trader Portal.
The Trader Portal is separate from the public website and may process additional information necessary to:
- create and secure your profile;
- authenticate your access;
- provide purchased services;
- manage trading programs and accounts;
- process transactions;
- provide customer support;
- prevent fraud or misuse; and
- comply with applicable legal and contractual requirements.
Evaluation purchases and other account-related transactions are completed through the Trader Portal.
The privacy notice available within the Trader Portal provides further information about how data associated with registered users is processed.
7. Cookies and tracking technologies
We aim to keep tracking on the public Crest Futures website limited.
The public website may use first-party cookies or similar technologies where necessary to:
- remember language or interface preferences;
- maintain essential website functionality;
- protect the website against malicious activity;
- maintain security and service reliability; and
- remember the partner link you arrived from, for up to 60 days, so the partner who referred you is credited if you make a purchase.
The public website loads the Google Ads tag so that Google and we can measure whether our advertising leads to visits and purchases. The tag uses advertising cookies only if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie box. If you choose “Only necessary”, or have not made a choice, it runs in a restricted mode without advertising cookies.
We also do not use the language-selection cookie to create advertising profiles. The partner referral cookie is first-party and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
You can delete or restrict cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential or preference cookies may cause certain website features or preferences to stop working as expected.
8. How we use information and our legal bases
Where applicable data protection law requires a lawful basis, Crest Futures processes personal information only where an appropriate basis exists.
Depending on the activity, this may include:
- Legitimate interests: where processing is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, protect, maintain or improve our website and systems, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Contractual necessity: where processing is necessary to provide a service you have requested or to take steps connected with entering into an agreement with you.
- Legal obligations: where information must be processed or retained to comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, lawful requests or legal proceedings.
- Consent: where we specifically request your consent for a particular type of processing when consent is required.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent as described at the point where it is collected.
9. Hosting, infrastructure and Cloudflare
The Crest Futures website is delivered using hosting infrastructure together with Cloudflare services.
These providers may process technical connection information on our behalf in order to:
- deliver website content;
- route network traffic;
- improve availability and performance;
- detect malicious or abnormal traffic;
- protect against denial-of-service attacks and other security threats; and
- maintain infrastructure and access logs.
This may include processing of IP addresses, request information and related technical identifiers.
Our infrastructure providers operate under their own security, privacy and data-processing obligations.
10. Service providers and recipients
We may provide personal information to service providers where reasonably necessary for them to perform services on our behalf.
Depending on the relevant service, these may include providers of:
- hosting and cloud infrastructure;
- content delivery and cybersecurity;
- customer authentication;
- Trader Portal infrastructure;
- communications;
- payment processing;
- trading technology;
- fraud prevention;
- professional advisory services; and
- legal or regulatory compliance.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, regulatory authority or another legally valid request.
We do not disclose personal information merely because a third party asks for it.
11. International data transfers
Some technology and infrastructure providers used by Crest Futures may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom.
Where applicable data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate transfer mechanism or recognised safeguard is in place.
The safeguards used will depend on the provider, destination and circumstances of the processing.
12. Data retention
We do not intend to retain personal information for longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Retention periods may depend on:
- the type of information;
- the purpose for which it is processed;
- security and fraud-prevention requirements;
- contractual requirements;
- dispute or enforcement periods;
- legal and regulatory requirements; and
- the need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Technical and security logs may be retained for an appropriate period where necessary to investigate incidents, prevent abuse, maintain system security or satisfy legal obligations.
Where information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymise or otherwise remove it in accordance with our retention practices.
13. External websites and links
Crest Futures may provide links to websites and services operated by third parties.
This may include regulatory resources, technology providers, educational resources or other external websites.
When you follow an external link, you leave the Crest Futures environment. The external website may receive technical information associated with your request and will process information in accordance with its own privacy practices.
Crest Futures does not control the privacy policies, cookies or data-processing practices of independent third-party websites.
You should review their privacy information before providing personal information to them.
14. Website images and media
Where practical, Crest Futures serves website images and design assets directly from its own website infrastructure.
For example, imagery displayed as part of the Crest Futures website may be stored and delivered as a local website asset rather than being loaded directly from the original image provider.
If you voluntarily follow a link to a source such as Unsplash, the CFTC, or another external website, your browser will connect directly to that third party and its privacy practices will apply.
15. Security
Crest Futures uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information and website infrastructure against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, misuse or disclosure.
No internet transmission or information-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for protecting their own devices, account credentials and authentication information and should never disclose passwords or security credentials to unauthorised persons.
16. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the law applicable to the processing of your information, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
These may include the right to:
- request access to personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion of information in certain circumstances;
- request restriction of certain processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- request transfer of certain information where data portability applies;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- raise a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
These rights are subject to applicable law and may not apply in every circumstance.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain privacy requests.
17. Complaints
If you have a concern about how Crest Futures handles personal information, we encourage you to contact us first so that we can review the issue.
Where UK data protection law applies, you may also have the right to submit a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Your right to contact a supervisory authority is not affected by contacting Crest Futures first.
18. Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice where our website, services, technology providers, legal requirements or data-processing practices change.
The latest version will be published on this page together with its effective or last-updated date.
Where a change materially affects how we process personal information, we may provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
19. Contacting Crest Futures
Questions, concerns or requests relating to privacy may be submitted through the official contact methods provided on the Crest Futures website or within the Trader Portal.
Please include enough information for us to understand and respond to your request, but do not send passwords, payment credentials or other unnecessary sensitive information.
